HOW TO DOWNLOAD JIGSAW PUZZLES TO SOLVE

  • Find a puzzle that “tickles your fancy”.
  • Click on the puzzle picture.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer:
  • When the File Download Dialog box appears, click on “Run”. (You can also save the puzzle to your hard drive by clicking “Save”.) When the Security Warning Dialog box pops up saying that the publisher is unknown, click “Run”. Wait a few seconds for the “Loading” icon to appear. A puzzle work area will appear.
  • Double Click on the small picture in the center of the screen. A full screen will appear with the puzzle scattered all over it. (Sometimes the pieces fall “over” the edge so if you are missing a piece be sure and check all of the
     edges.)
  • For more information on how to put the puzzle together, click the Help menu button in the upper left of the screen or read the Tips Box at the left.
  • If you are using Firefox: When the Download Dialog box appears, click “Save to Disk” > “OK”. On the Downloads Dialog box, click “Open”. When it asks if you want to open an executable file click “OK”. Wait a few seconds for the “Loading” icon to appear. A puzzle work area will appear.

    edges.)

PUZZLE TIPS

1. The number in the upper right corner of the picture tells you how many pieces there are in the puzzle.

2. If the word “Rotate” is in the upper right corner of the picture, the pieces can be rotated to solve the puzzle.

3. To rotate a piece, click on the piece until you see the shadow around the edges. You can either right click to rotate the piece or use your mouse wheel.

4. The online version does not support puzzle “trays”. You can get around this by placing your pieces in “piles” at the top of your workspace.

5. If you don’t want to play online - click “Save” in the Download Dialog box instead of “Run” or “Open”.

6. You cannot save your work so finish your puzzle before you turn your computer off. Most puzzles are easy enough to solve in half an hour or less.

7. If you want to do the larger puzzles you may want to download Jigsaw Puzzle 2 which is a great little program that will run and save your puzzles on your own computer. It comes with puzzle trays, an Exhibition Room and the ability to save your puzzles at any stage of play. You can also create your own puzzles from pictures you take yourself.

8. Once you have Jigsaw Puzzle 2 and have entered your license code you can easily import any of our puzzles. This gives you the ability to save and use the other puzzle options. To do this:

  • Download a puzzle as you usually do.
  • Double Click on the small picture in the center of the screen to go to your puzzle workspace.
  • Click the “Back” button in the menu at the upper left corner of your workspace.
  • Click “Copy” in the upper left corner.
  • Click “Copy to a new album”. > “OK”
  • Click “Exit”
  • Open your Jigsaw Puzzle 2 program.
  • Your new puzzle should appear in your workspace. You can now use all of the new options this program offers.
